Space Object Catalog

A maintained database of tracked resident space objects and their orbital data, the backbone of space situational awareness.

A space object catalogue is a continuously updated inventory of detected and tracked objects in orbit — active satellites, defunct spacecraft, rocket bodies, and debris — together with identifiers and orbital data such as TLEs or ephemerides.

Catalogues underpin conjunction assessment, reentry prediction, and space traffic coordination. Coverage is incomplete at small object sizes, which is a recognised limitation for collision risk assessment.
