Launch and Early Orbit Phase

The critical initial phase after launch when spacecraft systems are activated and checked.

LEOP is the high-risk period immediately following launch.

Activities

  • Spacecraft separation confirmation
  • Initial acquisition by ground stations
  • Solar array deployment
  • Attitude stabilization
  • System checkouts

Duration Typically 3-7 days depending on spacecraft complexity.
