EU Space Registry
The centralized European database of registered space objects, fulfilling UN Registration Convention obligations.
The EU Space Registry is the official European register of space objects, mandated by the EU Space Act. It serves both domestic regulatory purposes and fulfills international obligations under the UN Registration Convention of 1975.
Registration Requirements All space objects authorized under EU jurisdiction must be registered, including:
- Satellites (operational and non-operational)
- Launch vehicles and upper stages
- Released mission-related objects
- Planned space objects (pre-launch registration)
Information Recorded
- Designator/name of space object
- Launching state and operator
- Date and location of launch
- Basic orbital parameters
- General function and purpose
- Status (operational, decommissioned, re-entered)
- Liability and insurance information
Access and Transparency The registry includes:
- Public section: Basic information accessible to all
- Restricted section: Sensitive information for NCAs only
Integration with UN Registry EUSPA coordinates the submission of EU space object data to the UN Secretary-General for inclusion in the UN Register of Objects Launched into Outer Space.
